Looks like he used Gray Nics in today's game

Just seen the footage of his wicket, he has taken all the G Nics stickers off his bat.

Actually, he’s using a blank one with the TON stamp down near the toe.

Bairstow is a top odi opening bat and has been successful in the IPL, he will be worth more than county pros who have played a few test matches.

Not quite my point. Jonny will be "worth" more but will have much greater expectations than, say, Sibley - who may well be happy with unlimited free kit and a crate of champagne when he makes a ton. In terms of bang for your buck, when Bairstow will inevitably get knocked over quickly one in three, you surely see why they'd go as they have...

To be fair, Jonny batting is great exposure as there will always be a close up when his off stump is being rocked back

I think you're probably underselling the expectations of the England Test opener. He won't be getting big bucks for county games but England tests get a lot of coverage.

Bairstow would definitely cost more, but if, say, Zak Crawley also found himself without a bat sponsor this week I think I know whose phone would be ringing harder!

C list, I should say.

A list are the guys with marquee value - Kohli, Sharma, Smith, Root, maybe three or four others.

B list are the guys who offer the best bang for your buck - either guys like Sibley and Burns who fit a profile, spend time on telly and are probably quite sensible in the money they ask for or those like Morgan and Buttler who have a good media game.

C list are the guys who've priced themselves out of B and are not good enough for A.

My understanding- admittedly second hand from a few contacts working in the sports law field - is that outside of the a group, there isn't really much money out there for the majority of English cricketers.  Butler, Root and Stokes are marketable but outside of that even established internationals don't really shift kit.  I was lead  to believe that many are more use for freebie tickets than they are paying fees for the legal work given the paucity of the sums  involved

You just know Crawley will be a GN lifer. Sibley too.

I thought the GN stickered one must have been a special bat? No-one has suggested he's still using that actual bat? I guess he isn't?
