Seems like good finds if you like them.
Some of the high end SS bats look aesthetically pleasing to true eye.
But for some reason, I have yet to find an SS bat that feels great in hands. And I mean, I have tried with quite a few. This included a 2.7 and a one that I acquired from a West Indian national team player. (Forgot the name as he only played a coupe of ODI in 2012)
SG was another brand that I never got on with, till one day, I burrowed one from a friend to face a few practice balls on the pitch. It was an SG Players Ultimate bat. It was a relatively short ball pitched on middle and leg. And I just gave it a little tap, and the ball was outside rope on midwicket, and I was like, What the F??
It was an eye popping and a Jaw dropping effect.
So I offered a $100 on top of whatever he paid but he won’t sell.
So I sourced the same model bat in the same weight from the same retailer and supposedly from the same lot - after thoroughly knocking in and lots of net sessions, I took it to the game where I played a full fledge stroke, high towards long on. I knew I had middled it with a solid connection and was waiting to hear the cheers from my team mates to applaud the six - but heck - it was caught by the fielder 10 meters inside the boundary - it was again an eye popping and jaw dropping experience, and again, I was left thinking, WHAT THE F
?
