New Zealand v West Indies series

Day 3 of the 1st test right now. KW double hundred was pretty good.

It’s been awesome to watch some cricket. It’s a very one sided game though sadly. Williamson yet again proving how far ahead of Root and co he is

He was simply sublime. No ‘just his day’ style hitting etc.. just cruised and toyed with the bowling. Manipulated it and caressed fours. Very little to no simple bludgeoning of the ball

Williamson's knock was fantastic. Most club players would grumble if they had turned up to a track looking like the one being used here

Jeez this Kyle Jamieson looks a handful 140kph at 6’6” he’s getting some huge bounce from just back of a length. Compliments the skiddier Wagner very nicely.

Reckon NZ have one of if not the best seam bowling attacks out there

exactly. There is movement there if the bowler bowls in the right areas and hits the seam.. If you bowl tripe (too short, wide or full) it disappears to the boundary. It was a glory to watch him bat. Proper batting


WI are just a bit dire sadly. The openers really did show the right application which is all you can ask but they are just totally outclassed by Williamson with the bat and Boult/Southee with the ball. At least it's some Cricket though, not been any for a while

It certainly works together well and compliments each other well. They also don't seem to be suffering from Ego's etc.


Aus is still probably the best attack (Starc/Pattinson/Hazelwood/Lyon etc)
India are decent but not as vaunted as Indians and the IPL makes out
England's is great at home but without Anderson/Broad's control, will leak runs (Archer seems to have an ego problem, Wood is injury prone and isn't accurate, Curran... well.. just dire and Woakes is about as close as we get to a decent seam bowler and his knee is knackered and seems to be disliked).

Not really sure there is much point looking at WI/PK/Bang/Ire/SA/Kenya bowling attacks as they are a bit meh

SA a bit meh? If Rabada, Ngidi, Nortje are all fit that's a pretty decent pace attack, not to mention Maharaj who is a very decent spinner.

As for Archer having an 'ego problem', I would suggest that is wandering dangerously close to stereotyping. If anything, Archer has suffered in Test cricket from a lack of clarity about his role. Look how effective he has been in white ball cricket, essentially bowling as Cummins does in Tests. He's not some egotistical idiot, he just needs a captain who manages him properly as Morgan has done.

Not about them being a good side overall, you specifically mentioned their bowling attack which is the saving grace of their side IMO.

Not suggesting you are but this idea that Archer is lazy and egotistical is straight out of the Daily Mail.

Bit of fight at least. Joseph had a day out but WI just needed to keep batting for as long as possible.. draw was their only salvation so runs were irrelevant

complete mismatch again but NZ are enjoyable to watch. Play it the right way (excluding claiming a dodgy catch the other week :( )
