It's not a Hawk?  ;)

We call cars 'high performance' cars, don't think there's anything wrong with saying that a batmaker has extracted performance out of a cleft. ???

If I hand you kohli’s bat and ur facing archer, will you be able to score runs because you have performance in your bat? Performance is just a marketing trick to fool the customers In my opinion.

Then you have definitely chosen the wrong forum.

So you believe that any bat ever made will respond as well as any other bat ever made? Or do you realise what a nonsensical claim that is?

'Performance' is used in this context to describe a bat that will respond well if you hit the ball cleanly, that is obvious unless you want to wilfully misinterpret the description. There's no "marketing speak" involved simply because a bat is described as performing well.

Please can we keep this thread as one with pictures of kit.

Start a new thread if you want to discuss the merits of talent, technique and bat performance please.

Although I can't imagine it will be a long one as pros don't seem to like rubbish bats.

This thread has derailed a fair bit - and I have been guilty of contributing to said derailment.

Here is another set of kit I intend on using this season...

A bit excessive as always, why anyone would need 7 of the same bat model - who knows... If there is one thing Alex @thebigginge  and Co at GN know how to do, it's how to extract performance out of a cleft! These are all VERY consistent in their performance, with subtleties in what each shape offers. All dubbed 'Ceiling Hazards' by myself:

If you need somebody to knock them in let me know 😖

Using them all without knocking them in.

That is a remarkably pleasant collection of GN bats. MAXX #3 is absolutely glorious.

@Chad . I'm not jealous, honest ;-)

Are we ever going to see the 'My better half wants me to clear the spare room/garage/floor/house of cricket gear sale'?

Can I kindly ask the weights of these bats? 🙂

If that happens I think we are all going to be handing over a lot of money!

Definitely going to use this one as much as possible this summer, only in dry weather 😀
Weight is 2lb 8oz, pickup, feel and response is excellent, readily knocked on less than an hr, ready to go, can't wait any more 😀😀😀

Can you share some more details please @AJ2014

How much did you pay?
Who made it?
How whippy or stiff is the handle?
What is the purpose of the tape on the bottom?
How many times did you hit it in that hour of knocking?

You say you're only going to use it in the dry weather. Would you ask for a different one to be run our if it clouded over?

Good thought provoking questions. I approve.

Well with only a few weeks until we kick off I am starting to whittle the winter purchases down abit. But here is what I have at the moment.

The Bats from right to left - All stickered with Neon Stickers

Aldred Maverick , B3 Root - Low density monster!, TK pro cleft handpicked by my good mate Uzi and shaped by our very own @Northern monkey , Last years main match bat Aldred Sliver Sovereign , Orange stickered neon is one of my own , UZI LE Root Profile (again Low density - big bat for 2lb7oz) GN Pro Performance (which has now been moved on) and a beautiful Salix from @Grubby

The softs are from 2 friends companies @Neon Cricket & @Uzi Sports
Neon Cricket Pads and 2 pairs of gloves
Uzi Pads and gloves

Custom made Stretton Foxes
Custom Masrui with club badge

So just to whittle match bat selection down abit - Ended last season using the B3 and did well with it so should start the season with it. But the @Northern monkey TK is an absolute gun so I will give this a go in the nets for sure

Heres to a fun filled season
