Here's my main gear for the league season - plain and simple Bradbury softs, Strettons, NB tennis shoes spiked up. Bats are two I shaped myself, favourite on the left which is mid-refurb and fear is not long for this world, a short blade number and an old bat I did a weight reduction on that serves as faithful backup.

This thread has derailed a fair bit - and I have been guilty of contributing to said derailment.

Here is another set of kit I intend on using this season...

A bit excessive as always, why anyone would need 7 of the same bat model - who knows... If there is one thing Alex @thebigginge  and Co at GN know how to do, it's how to extract performance out of a cleft! These are all VERY consistent in their performance, with subtleties in what each shape offers. All dubbed 'Ceiling Hazards' by myself:

Nice to see the collection Chad!

I do love the GN range this year. I hope someone buys the Test Originals softs and retro bats so we can have a review on here!

Good afternoon cricketers!

Thought approx 6 years was long enough to post something on here. Good to see some familiar people still here and doing well!

This is literally my kit for the coming season, having spent a few years off with only 4/5 games in that time I can't wait to get going next week.

I can't believe how much prices have inflated in just a couple of years so looks like this will be all I have for as long as it lasts.

GM Purist, almost dead. Bat I scored my first 100 with over 10 years ago now so a bat close to my heart - still gets the odd run out.
Ayrtek, restickered New Balance something or another. Won it in a club raffle, ok but not amazing. Good enough to get 100 with though.

Affinity Cricket softs. Sad to see Marcus has had to shelf the cricket gear as I really like/d the gear.
Ayrtek lid. Tom will know how long I've had this but must be 10+ years. wouldn't change it for anything.

Was disappointed to see Asics have left the cricket market as I need spikes, I guess Adidas will have to do!

Cheers all - hope to be on here a lot more often this season.

That Purist is beautiful. My favourite GM bat of all time! (and welcome back!)

Smallest ever kit collection in my match bag.

Single bat at the moment from last season & my own brands pads and gloves.

Finally getting my kit together properly for the season and making a few decisions on what's going into the match bag for the year. Fair bit of new stuff for this year as lockdown boredom had me feeling a bit spend-y.

Bats

BlankBats B4 (Phantom Stickers) - 2lb 8.5oz - Tidied this one up myself after last year, had it for a couple of seasons and still going along nicely despite some questionable running repairs. Handle has been cut down by about 0.75 inches.

Scott Custom G3 - 2lb 9.5oz - Stickered as a G2 and honestly I think a lot of manufacturers would have graded as a G2, lovely bat and only going to get better I reckon. Shorter blade, very slightly longer handle to give an overall approximately harrow length.

JN Garrard G2 - 2lb 10.5oz - Slightly heavier bat, haven't had a chance to use it in anger yet but taps up very nicely.

Softs/Protection

Neon Pads - Small Mens size, really comfortable, shorter straps which I need with my chicken legs, and loads of really nice touches.

OLS Unbranded gloves - Picked up a couple of pairs a while ago to try and found they're the best fit of any gloves I've tried so far so they've stuck. Not playing at a very high standard I don't really need top protection.

Aero P2 Strippers - Tried P1s but they just felt too bulky, perfect mix between confidence that I'm not going to get a sore one and being able to move easily.

New Balance CK4020s - Heard good things about the NB rubber shoes and was looking for a slightly comfier alternative to my Payntrs, fingers crossed they're as comfy in games and training as they are wearing them in around my flat.

Masuri C-Line Plus - Bit of a rarety, a lightweight helmet that fits on my fat head 😅 very comfy, much more breathable than my old Kookaburra and fits over my glasses easily.

Bag

Select Black Label Wheelie - Really nice bag especially for the price I paid. Had asked about one of Select's Black Friday deals on another bag but they told me it didn't have as many padded bat pockets as I wanted. Matt from Select very generously offered to match the sale price on a newer model bag and very pleased with it so far. The cool pocket is a nice touch now that bringing your own tea is the norm. One slight issue is the lack of a separate shoe tunnel/pocket but that's a very minor sticking point as the rest of the bag is excellent.

Nice kit, my guess is you'll use Scott bat!

The more I think about that profile, the more I think it shoold be a stock one. Remember the pick up being lovely! 😆

@jonny77 It picks up arguably better than the BB which is a whole ounce lighter and already picks up pretty well. I was already pretty set on the shorter blade setup but this bat reinforced it for sure.

Great feedback mate. Made myself a shorter blade/harrow length for this season and it feels great, so be good to see hope they both go

Here we go finally.

Adidas spikes came this morning so got to take a picture of everything together

Bats
M&H C200 (yellow stickers)- 2.8 and big for the weight. 7-8 perfectly straight grains. Tried to move this on last week and so glad I didn’t, I’ve used it in about 3-4 nets now and it’s genuinely up there with the best I have had. Avoided making a huge mistake!

M&H F200 (blue stickers)- 2.9ish. 14 lovely straight grains. My last years bat, didn’t get much use, it’s nice but a little hard still and will now serve as a net bat. I had a little bit of weight taken out of the back of this as it was a little heavy.

Pads
M&H S100 pads- would like to have replaced these to freshen the full look up but they didn’t get much use last year so can’t justify it

Gloves
M&H S200 gloves- this years match gloves, the best of the millichamp range of gloves in my opinion
M&H S100 gloves- last years match gloves, will now serve as a net and backup pair
M&H CS300 gloves- used these in nets last year and decided to spray them, it went reasonably but some rough areas. Likely to just be used in training but possibly for T20 if I’m feeling brave.

Protection
Shrey air steel helmet with club crest
Moonwalker thigh pads- couldn’t recommend these enough, light and great protection and sit very nicely on your body

Spikes
Adidas 22 yards- will be used to bat in
NB CK4030- will be used for fielding

I have other bits, sidearm, fielding pads as I do some short leg stuff but nothing that interesting.

Hope you like the pictures

"suddenly found myself in Romida"
I know that feeling well!!

Where were you playing golf, there are some serious courses around there.
