which are better in your opinion? i have some strettons but am considering trying some remfry’s
I'm in the position of not being a batsman but wanting better equipment to make the most of want I have. Meaning I haven't spent as much time as most of you at the crease; disclaimer.
I moved from Aero P1's to both of these around the same time. You quickly forget how bulky the Aero's felt compared to either of these. They are both very good so you quickly accept the new norm. The only thing is I still have to shape the Foxes inner thigh to my liking so the Remfrys have had more time at the crease. If I didn't have the Remfrys I would have spent more time with the Foxes and never looked back. I've used two sets of Remfrys. The first set was a bit on the small side so when another set became available I sold them on to a teammate. Very happy with either though.
In a nutshell, both are comfy and less bulky than Aeros. Both give confidence that if you do get hit you can get away with it. Even in different sizes, the Remfrys worked out of the box. Foxes need fettling but give the same result.
One thing though. I was never too keen on getting the right shape of Foxes via the template that George sent to you. Yes, a more bespoke product but more chance of getting something wrong. Can others vouch for the small, medium or large approach or is the template a better (if more expensive) option?
Thanks to
@Komdotkom I've now got a lovely L&W Ultra and I'm now looking forward to spending more time in the nets to get the most from it.
