I�ve now moved away from my addiction of batting pads and changed over to thigh pads (sorry to join you @Buzz)

I�ve noticed that unless you buy a custom made, the majority of thigh pads do vary in length despite being labeled as standard men�s. Naturally you would want as much leg coverage as possible for protection, but with this I�ve found that the thigh pad would then rest against your knee and become uncomfortable when playing shots or running.

So my question is, do you prefer a larger thigh pad or smaller? Smaller obviously means less coverage but more comfortable when batting and running between the wickets.

(Very geeky badger question I know...)

Larger for me as feel more confident but have used strettons for years now so perfect fit on what I asked for

Toyed with different brands for a while as couldn�t get right fit being taller so feel the pain here

The GN thigh pads are the right length.

Although I have short legs as it is, I prefer a little thigh pad, I wear the smallest strippers I can get the waist big enough to fit haha

I�ve heard a few people do this. More protection in nets than in an actual game

It will be interesting for me this season because I am moving from P2's to Stretton's and even in Small they are definitely larger.

I heard they need to be in the oven first before use, please check with these thigh pads users.

Never put mine in oven just bit of elbow grease and had 2 pairs

I'm sure this is the to go, as I didn't like the idea of them under any amount of heat on the oven, you'd read the burnt thigh pads thread 😊

The new strettons are fine. But they do need to be put in the oven every few weeks... I agree though, never got hit in a match, sometimes get hit in the nets. Depends how bouncy the pitch is, I guess

I have two sets- one for nets and one for games.

Trusty old Aero strippers size S have been fine in games because i don't look down and see how much skin is exposed compared to batting in the nets with them haha

I bought a set of the blue moonwlkr to try out in the nets and went for a medium size in the hope that they would be suitable for games as well and i think i might give them a go this year.

Thigh pads must be one of the most under-considered parts of the kit as the correct fit/feel i think is as important as your bat in my opinion...

Ps. Steve smith used to get upset over how his laces sat under his pads so worrying about this is nothing!
