Highest score posted...
« on: June 08, 2021, 09:30:46 AM »

Date 12/07/2014
Surrey Championship 3rd XI Premier division match.
3 academy and a few new comers were playing this match.
And a new Captain!,
Even though I was playing as a bowler, was asked to bowl at no.7.
First ball, caught and bowled,
bowling figures 5-21-1,
I was confident that I would be completing my 10 overs.
After the 5th, I was walking back to long leg, when I heard Skip saying, "Thanks Bro", I didn't even bother to look back, waved right hand, to acknowledge him.
Thought bathers were bit on a hold but then they were No More, all clean big sixes, the ball hitting the trees like bomb shells!
All very painful!
After tried all other options once again, Skip asked me to bowl 2 of the last 4 overs.
I knew I'll get some big time stick as well 😎!
I tried to bowl as many as possible fast yorkers. One of the hits was a genuine long on catch but young lad didn't even live and the ball fell a couple of metres from him! Think then the batters scored like 30 plus from the remainder of my spell!
If you have had a worse thrashing, then please share here, I'll be the first one to commiserate 😎

It's a shortened version, it takes time when you're working at the same time.

The team I play in was bowled out for 36 a few seasons ago. I top scored with a devastating 12. We batted first and lost inside 10 overs. I had to travel 45 minutes for the match. I drove home picked up my wife and was in the cinema (20 minutes away) by 3.30pm.

That was a thrashing if that is what you are looking for @AJ2014

I also played in a 40 over match once where we were hit for over 400 for the loss of 1 wicket. One batsman got over 200 and one scored 180. We made about 130 in response.

So there you have a couple of examples of some lovely beatings we have taken.

This is a slightly depressing topic, can we also discuss hammerings that we have dished out also?

 :)

Highest scoring game I've been a part of. We almost lost it too.

Been on the end of a couple of sub 50 all outs as well. I like how it goes both ways at club level, bowled out of 90 chasing 100 last week and chased 210 for 3 this week.

Aaaah memories. Playing a match each in the austrian 40 overs and 20 overs league in Slovenia a few years ago. Back to back matches on the same day against same team. First was the 40 overs match. We made 270. Had them out for 160. Nothing special here.

Then came T20. They made 270. One guy was spanking every of our bowlers to all over the places. I think it was my 2nd year of playing club cricket again. I bowled some offies back then. He spanked me for my first over. In the 2nd over he must've been tired already from hitting all the 6es. He mistimes one ball to our best fielder (thankfully) and fielder ended up sprinting towards the ball and catching he. The batter made some 80 off 30 or so. Was a good collective spanking we got that day.

Ah and in response we made 160 coincidentally.

Wouldn't it be easier to just share the link to the scorecard?

I played against Ryan Higgins and got hit for 226* in a t20, The most emasculating day of cricket I have ever experienced.

I also had him dropped 3 times off my bowling as he proceeded to absolutely smoke me everywhere after that.

I then batted 4 against him, and nicked off after making a few.

so not only did he ruin my day by carting me everywhere, he also got me out. Thanks Ryan.

You can count yourself unlucky there! Dropped catches can/do hurt a lot 😎
