Bit harsh, bowled reasonably well today, some back luck with that 9th over

Don’t think it is harsh at all. Three wickets in his last 11 ODIs (one was against the might of Ireland) and the 2nd worst bowling economy rate of any England ODI cricketer ever (only behind Dernbach).

What does he offer?

Doesn't score many runs
Not consistent
Lacks pace

I think the only two things are : Offers Aggression and 'left arm'...

sadly we have yet another over rated England player.. ECB and media coo over him and some fans just go along with it. There are many better prospects both in red and white ball than Curran and yet he keeps getting the gig.

You can’t even moan about the right Curran.

You're confusing your Currans. Sam is well worth his spot in the white ball setup, increasingly unconvinced by his brother. Woakes is a better all round proposition as is Willey. When Stokes is back in the fold I don't see a role for TC.

Sam is decent and may be good enough in red ball to potentially be a middle order player and forth seamer.
I don't see how TC gets picked over Woakes in an match at all. Woakes being rested is beyond any logic.

I'm glad Willey has had two good matches now, not a mad fan of his but he's decent. You would have to say also he was unlucky to get cut from the squad before the World Cup last time round. He can also put bat to ball down the order.

Stupid decision to bowl first! We already know we can beat a second rate time when we bowl first. Also why not play Garton, Banton and Dawson. What are we going to learn from the current team that we don't already know?

Think you already know what you get with Dawson but would have been nice to give Banton and Garton a run out against a very weak Sri Lanka side.

Would stink of hypocrisy if he didn't pick his strongest team available whilst Root didn't have such luxury when it came to the New Zealand...

Morgan didn't decide the test squad though did he? If you give the like of Willey a game out of the side and played Garton then that's got absolutely nothing to do with the test team.
