Agree with the 8, I think Moeen will be in we like the twin spin option, Jordan as well I reckon.
Tough call to get our best players when we could essentially pick two teams in this format as well.

may be LL or Malan. As much has Bairstow has tailed off in tests he is outstanding in limited overs.
Roy and Bairstow 1 and 2 is hard to argue against.

Mo will definitely be in, it's in the UAE and we have no subcontinent teams in our group (unless Bangladesh qualify into it).

I also think the other seamer will be Jordan, he is the more experienced go to death bowler.

I would pick Livingstone definitely, he has the power hitting that allows us to create a real fear in the opposition and his bowling gives an extra option. He is also a gun fielder.

Does anybody know how many will be in the squad?

Anyone not picking Malan is daft

He's more than proven he can perform at this level, his record is outstanding

Roy
JB
Malan
Livingston
Buttler
Morgan
Stokes
Archer
Rashid
Mahmood
Parkinson

Bowling options:
Rashid
Mahmood
Parkinson
Livingston
Archer
Stokes

And plenty of powerful batting

Malan's record against pace bowling is exceptional, no argument. But isn't his record against spin in white ball internationals pretty weak? Seems like a pretty glaring flaw for a tournament that's going to be played in the UAE.

Malan's record is undoubtely exceptional, but he is not a great slow pitch player and has never really excelled against spin, and there is an argument that the risk of him getting out before his rate starts to catch up outweighs the benefits of him being able to go deep.  In normal circumstances, I would say yeah, sure, you need someone in that Amla/Williamson role but when we have the depth of batting options that we have, it may be that he ends focussing on the longer formats.

I tried to put my squad together.  I went for:

Jason Roy
Jos Buttler
Jonny Bairstow
Ben Stokes
Liam Livingstone
Eoin Morgan
Joe Root
Sam Curran
Chris Jordan
Adil Rashid
Jofra Archer

Dawid Malan
Saqib Mahmood
Moeen Ali
Matt Parkinson

Not a huge amount of love for Chris Woakes in these stabs at squads...

True - if it were elsewhere I think there would be, but, like David Willey, I suspect that the environment in which the tournament will take place counts against him.  Archer has raw pace, Mahmood and Jordan bowl the best yorkers and Curran is probably the most consistent hitter of those left.

Yes because the wickets in the UAE are known Bunsen's... They're flat he'll be fine

Agree but it shows how strong we are. If Livingstone does get in the final 11, it might be at the expense of Malan who is No 1 rated in the world, or was till recently.
Woakes has never let us down your right and no one on here has mentioned Root.

T Curran is good death bowler but I’m going Jordan to do that job and is there a better fielder than CJ in the squad? He’s awesome and takes some blinding catches.

As a long term England fan, 50 overs or 20 it’s never been this good.

T Curran out of the decider, David Wiley in.
Line up shows Livingstone to come in 7. That’s some strength in depth.

He’s really good at the end of the innings, if it’s T Curran or Jordan for the death spot CJ should get it.

We are off to a flyer too, we just don’t back down from anything.
Probably Malan alone takes time to have a look

Blimey where do we go with that? Livingstones six was crucial, did Malan put pressure on the other batters or did we need that contribution of 30 odd when wickets were going...

I dunno, can't wait for he highlights

Full strength, would the seamers not be Archer, Woakes, Curran S?
