Advice - is this fixable?
« on: July 16, 2021, 08:46:19 PM »

Loaned out a bat to one of our juniors while he waited for his new bat to arrive. Unfortunately he's toed a wide yorker in a midweek game last week and the results are below.

Be a bit gutted to give up on the bat as it's only been used in about 12 nets and one midweek game but I've never had a bat sustain as much toe damage before.

Would appreciate the input of CBF's collective knowledge, can it be repaired? If so, would appreciate a quote for repairs from any of the forum batmakers/repairers!

I would have thought you could either glue, lamitoe, clamp and dowel or swap with a graft and dowel

Now a days all bats are "repairable" what we dont know if repair will hold and for how long.

So being a new bat as u say, i would def go for a repair, I have repaired similar cracks and bats being used for a long while after it, in a cricket league with 5 or 10 usd cheap balls.

Glue, clamps, dowells, binding, then pray a lot so it holds for a long while.

Cheers...

Happy to repair for you mate. Would be £25 plus return postage at £7.

Must warn you my wife is due any day now so there may be a delay or a week or so if you want me to repair it for you.
