Nice read Chad and some lovely bats picked up, Rob is the one bat maker I wish I had taken the time to see and kit to use as always loved the RPC stickers, cant see the Blueroom ones do anything for me but the softs look well designed and very decen.

Finally I’ll believe you will stop collecting and buying bats when I see the worlds biggest ever same thread, now that will take a kettle worth of tea to read through and your inbox will go into meltdown lol

Thanks for taking the time to read, Chris. (And anyone else that has, I do appreciate it!) I was the same, I wasn't a huge fan of the Blueroom ones, but for some reason, one season when they changed the colourway slightly and had a white background, my eyes lit up, and have been in love with the look of the brand since. (I think when they introduced the white and blue storm stickers) The softs are indeed very well designed, as I said, the only thing I'd change is from Ambidextrous to regular RH and LH, but I understand the frustration of not ordering enough of a specific dexterity and too much of another. Hard to gauge! The bats are very very good, that extra press as I said made a big difference. The 2 I selected from 90% finished state I picked in particular for the blemishes - @wilkie113 will agree that they absolutely flew in their unfinished state. Very crisp feel, especially in the RPC off the stain. :)

Yeah, I still haven't stopped yet, there are so many different makers in the world, but my issue lies in buying so many of the same maker, like a madman doing the exact same thing a multitude of times expecting a different result. (I get the different results, but are they enough to make a difference in the result on the pitch?)

Excellent post @Chad and your photography is always mouthwatering. Even though i’m on the other side of the globe and have only even communicated With Rob after posting a video or most recently when I purchased my Blueroom I got a sense from my reviews of his bats that there is a level of care and performance that I just had to have my own. He seems honest, helpful and humble. The brew would have turps in it to thin it like french polishers use. Rpc bat review coming up in this month on the channel btw. This weeks bat is a Smith Replica!

Thanks Marc @sarg for spending time to read and comment - as I mention, your review is one of the factors that tipped me into an actual visit. (I'd have just ordered online otherwise) The photos are purely enhanced by the reflective surface haha, if I had any clue as to what I was doing with my phone camera or any camera, they'd be absolutely stunning pictures I'm sure. (I might ask my mate to come round and teach me a thing or two)

Rob is a real gent, and fantastic to deal with. As you said - honest, helpful and humble are definitely qualities I would associate with him, based on our meeting with him. I will keep an eye out for the RPC review, and for anyone else interested, Marc's Youtube channel is https://www.youtube.com/c/CricketBatInfo

@Chad - Pretty impressive selection of bats from RPC. I just spoke to Rob this morning and got myself a Heritage RPC bat :-). Well thanks @Chad  ;)

Great review, it's a really good read.

I'd love to pick up a bat from Rob someday, he seems like such a good man living the dream for 30 years!

It's good to know he grades his clefts based on performance over looks, except at the highest grade, which makes sense. Albeit harder to find as much value in the lower grades maybe. Its a shame he's not active on the forum any more.

We are. Slacking massively sorry! Doing a house up occupies a lot of time haha.

I shall try and grab some with my kit for this season at the weekend
