Iv watched their reviews in past and there is nonsense chatted

On this occasion something about the toe and how it will attract some buyers
In the past saying bats have a low middle and it’s bottom heavy when the middle is mid

Just nonsense half the time

So if Babar Azam wants a certain shape towards the toe, and it attracts him, it's all fine, and the resultant bat is the greatest ever seen - but if the chap in the video doesn't like the way the toe is shaped, he's a charlatan and doesn't know what he's talking about? I'd maybe think someone in retail would know what kind of things can put some buyers off, as they'll have experienced ones put off by things like that.

Any others like their reviews or see them as a source of credibility ?

Maybe I’m missing something

Their videos are fine and offer an easy (and occasionally fun) way to find out about the new ranges. I wouldn't describe them as hugely critical reviewers, but they have a product to sell at the end of the day. They are one of the better cricket kit Youtube channels out there. They aren't like Paul Cole or the Cricket Bat Info guy, but they are still good videos that do the job. They do a better job of highlighting the different technical aspects of the range, I think though - and I appreciate that, because I never would have considered a Brava until I watched the video, for example. I do think they draw upon what the average clubbie wants quite nicely, too.

They are just fine Youtube videos - it doesn't need to be directed by Steven Spielberg after all!

I appreciate they took the time to make the video explaining the various ranges. I would definitely prefer it over going through the GM website and trying to figure the same by reading product  descriptions across multiple links (I might do so after watching the video to lookup some details). You also need to  take any review video with a grain of salt, no one said this video or any other review video is gospel about the ranges.  You watch the video, see what they got to say (reviews can be subjective) then make your own mind on what you think. Just because you disagree on particular part in the review, doesn't mean the video itself isn't credible. Just my 2 cents.

That’s fair and more reasonable than comparisons with or bringing up Babar Azams bat

They did show the range which was helpful

I was more pointing out that club cricketers are allowed their preferences too. Why should professionals be given the pass for preferences, while folks serving consumers in the industry be ridiculed for simply saying that people might not like the look of the toe shaping?

Watched some of Serious Crickets stuff, and times I've thought that they've been inaccurate etc, but they've improved on that. Nothing wrong with what they've said in the videos they've posted about GM. The fact they got someone from GM to interview for the new range is pretty cool, especially their thinking behind the new releases and the shape designs. $#itting on folks in the industry because you think you know better is hardly reasonable in this case.

Should also point out that one of the more prolific and trusted reviewers suggested that a certain international player didn't get his bats pressed at all, and only had them knocked in for optimum performance.

Back on topic, should have a few of these popping up at some point, will try take some snaps for a better idea of what the bats look like.

I bought a Hydra Signature and a Brava 606. Without a shadow of a doubt the Brava is my favourite all time bat shape. Thick shoulders, nice chunky edges and big toe. Great profile.

Love the tap up on the Hydra and a nice 'players' profile. The Brava is a bit of a plank but the shape is so good I'm going to keep it and see if it opens up a bit. At least I have a profile I like that I can ask other bat makers to replicate.

I enjoy some of the Serious Cricket reviews and I enjoyed the one on GM bats for 2023. I'm probably a bit biased having played cricket with Neil Rider but I quite like his technical bits and pieces. The other chap I'm not quite so keen on.

Exactly @velvetsky01 Tony, I've had a few bats in my time  ;)

I think it is perfect bat shape, especially for lower and slower wickets. Just wish the performance was a bit better on the 606 I bought.
