I think the 32.2 is the Shan Masood shape with 2mm of concaving - could be wrong!

Big fan of your kit mate, are the chase and B3 based on this GM?

How’d you find the yellow GM grips, interested to hear your thoughts?

Thank you!

They aren’t actually - the B3 came first, then the Chase, then the GM (which i liked as it was similar to the B3). The Chase has a much lower middle and serves mainly as my option for slower and lower wickets/slower bowlers. The GM actually has a couple of modifications to bring it closer to the B3, including a bit of medical tape to oval up the handle and the handle being shortened slightly by having the top cut down and replacing the weight/feel with some additional grip rings. I thought long and hard about doing the latter, but it is such a ridiculous gun that I’m never selling it, so decided not to worry about resale value!

I really like the GM matrix grips - they are nice and soft, grippy and not too thick. I did have all three bats fitted with Hex grips, but when I got the new Garrard gloves (which have different palms than the B3s) I found that i preferred the feel of the matrix grip in that glove/grip combo.

What are the specs on that b3?

Pretty big! It’s not far off max edge, spine is 63/64 and the shoulders are huge which is the main reason I like it so much I think, just picked it up and it felt like a wand. The middle extends almost all the way to the stickers (I think as there is a lot of wood left high in the bat) although there isn’t too much low down because of the duckbill. It is also a short blade/standard handle set up (i.e. not short blade long handle), so it is just about harrow length overall but with an adult handle (I have mine on the slimmer side, but not as thin as a standard junior handle).

It is 104mm width though, as it’s technically a junior bat - this is what let them hit the weight at those specs. It has never bothered me to be honest and my rationale is that if I’m hitting it with the outside 2mm it’s an edge anyway so I’m better off missing it!

I am pretty sure the 31.2 is the Shan shape and the 32.2 is their Root interpretation (which became the Maverick). I think the 31.2 has a lower middle and doesn’t have the thick shoulders of the 32.2.

Someone I know, bought GM Noir 808, 2lb 10oz, but never got in terms with it as a power hitter, sold it on. It might have been it's weight lower down.

Think I’m now done with my 2022 kit… Still possible I will add some remfry or M&H thigh pads and maybe a new pair of spikes - but pretty much there!

Match Kit:
Helmet: Club Masuri OS2 Titanium
Thigh Pads: Strettons
Gloves: JN Garrard x2 (thanks to @SurreySam for the idea here!)
Pads: Phantom Limited 2021
Bag: B3 D145 Wheelie Duffle

Bats:
GM Dan Lawrence Player Edition (2lb 9oz)
B3 Custom 2 stripe 32.2 (2lb 7oz)
Chase FLC SSH (2lb 8oz)

Cool, glad sharing some info on here helps others out.

Lovely kit, would probably be comfortable using it all myself as I've got similar taste.

Shan had two shapes. His latest was the Root / 32.2 shape, which is now the maverick.
