Choosing cricket pads online is like choosing a jumper or any garment but not having a clue what it is made of? Is it a warm fleece or a cotton long sleeved Tshirt? The risk is yours. Get what your given and that is it.
You wanted wool but you got cotton.

Who would buy a jumper if it was ‘ultra warm’ or ‘Sewn on sleeves which don’t cool you down so you’ll stay warm’

Cricket like any sports equipment is generally about the weight of it, so please tell us the pad weights like the bats! Why the big secret every year?

Surely it's easier for pads since technically they should all be the same weight, I don't know why it isn't advertised when selling them. Even when they say "ultra light" pads - they never get advertised with the actual weight I feel.

I advertise the weight of mine on the website. Think it's helpful as not all pads are equal. I had some samples once which felt like they weighed a ton!

Any chance you'd consider getting small mens size pads down the line Jonny?

Yes I’ve used it, even tried adding to it in a non helpful way. But! A lot are out of date now.
I keep meaning to add my recent research to it but never get round to it.

Yes I'll maybe add small mens and large mens at somepoint. I've never really had an issue with any mens size pads and I'm not exactly a giant! 😆 Which is why i didn't really think it worthwhile initially

Yes I noticed Jonny77, and I can see why you show the weight as you have a product to be proud of and shout about.
Thought you had solved my problem but no LARGE available which I understand and can’t do it all. We should add your pad weight to the thread though really.

Think you're about heights with me, biggest thing I've found is the strap size on standard mens pads. Smaller pads do make it a bit easier to run as well.

100% ^ I feel like my knee is in the correct place, even though the difference is minimal it just feels a lot more comfortable and easier to run like Jimbo said.

Jonny77, do you have to buy minimums or can you buy small quantities?
I know my wedding shop suppliers have different rules. 🙄
Just curious, but I’ll shut up if too nosey.

Depends on the suppliers imo, but the decent ones have minimums. Not really worth anyones time to produce s couple of pairs of branded pads. Even if they're std designs, which mine aren't as i have a fair input to what i want on my softs.
