Thanks all, appreciate the kind words. Yes the focus on edge sizes is a little questionable, especially as all of our bats have the edges rounded off whereas some other brands don't, but it is quite a selling point still for most of the general public so makes sense to be included being as the test is aimed at the general buyer.
Overall I'm still very pleased with the result though, especially considering I only took out the basic entry and didn't pay for any extra advertising......
I don't understand why there isn't a Value for money rating though?
I'm actually glad you spotted that - I
completely agree! Up until 2020, there was always a value for money section. When I entered the 2021 test last year, I sent in a club grade bat purely for the reason that I wanted to prove that for under £200 you could still get a bat that was as good as the big money offerings, regardless of the looks etc. Unfortunately, for some reason in 2021 they took this part of the test out - to my delight the bat still came in joint 4th on the test overall, but had that category been included then it likely would've finished higher with all the other bats above it being over double the cost.
Naturally for 2022, with the category no longer being included I sent in one of the top grade bats to level the playing field with comparable brands. I accept they're certainly not the cheapest and not for everyone, but still a decent amount below what you'd pay for the equivalent grade from GN/GM/NB/M&H.
