After deciding I want to get back playing a bit more after a few years of dossing around I had a net last night with a (possible) new club with intention of 5th XI/Sunday stuff; always a bit nervy but seem like a nice bunch. Wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be with the ball at miltary medium, but still can't cut the ball to save my life

Feeling a bit sore today, but nice to have a bit of a buzz back around maybe playing again

I’m a coach for my club, so the season never really ends. We have also started (and coached!) a ladies team, so a busy year.

I finally decided to get my own technique in order, so booked some preseason lessons last Xmas. Turned myself into an opener. Scored my first ever ton -139 retired - plus a 98,82 & 48. Played a few games for the 2nds, who won their league division. I also played in our T20 team, reached the county final, playing with and against players of a far higher standard than me. Now it’s indoors season, which I’m really enjoying.

All in all a pretty good year. For a small village club we are starting a 4th XI next years to bring on the juniors and some ladies into league cricket.
