My FiL wanted to buy my lad a Keeley for xmas - I live within a few miles of them. We got the full personal tour from Tim, and whilst Joe was trying a few out, I grazed the bin of Grade 3s. In there was a 2'13 with 2/3 heartwood on the inner edge 12 straight grains and no blemishes. Tim hit it with a mallet, turned to me and said "If you like the weight, this will go like stink!! I've no idea why someone graded this a 3!"

I can confirm it does indeed go like a train! I hit a pulled flat 6 with it last Saturday and the noise it made put a big smile on my face. Ok, not mega cheap at £160 (local rates!) but for a gun hand made Keeley, stickered to my preference, I'm very happy.

Bought a bag of kit off Facebay for £40, mainly because it had some Brand new CA pads and gloves in a Kookaburra wheelie, I wanted the bag and softs for Nets, When I picked in up it had a CA 8000 bat in the bottom of the bag, it was a gun, sold it too an opposition player for £100 after a game because I'd been given a brand new Kook Nickel which was also an amazing bat.
Sold the CA gloves for £30, Pads for £30 and a few other odds and sods in the bag taking the total over £200. Gave the bag to a junior.

Not sure what I can say about who but...

When I was working in cricket retail I spoke to a company who had hidden a few bats for their female pro's and ended up miss placing the bat, the female pro found a new sponsor and the bat didn't have anywhere to go. The company offered me the bat for £75, to date I've got 2 50's with it and a total of 3000ish runs. A well-made bat by a well know bat maker (UK based)

As someone who justifies spending by the cost of use, it's working out at about 25p per run and still going!

The female pro must have also liked a thin handle and a super short blade as it's basically a shrunk-down version of the Steve Smith shape! (The company I purchased from never revealed the pro) and it absolutely go's!

25p x 3000 = £750  sounds expensive!  is it made of gold?  :)
