XI's
« on: May 04, 2022, 11:36:05 AM »

Just for fun again, I remember pro's of the past talking about making up teams based on a subject - Fat XI, Crap XI, Baby-faced XI, Rabbits XI, Fearsome Overseas Xi etc, so I thought we might like to make up a few on here.

My first attempt is a double barrelled or hyphenated XI. As always, I've had to bend the rules a little, so I'm happy to drop a few of the dodgier ones from the starting line-up   :D

Bell-Drummond
De Caires
D'Oliveira
van der Merwe
de Grandhomme
Patterson-White
Roland-Jones
Hannon-Dalby
van der Gugten
de Lange
van Buuren

Nathan Coulter-Nile could replace de Lange.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice at Sussex to replace de Grandhomme.

I feel there needs to be a urm "specialist slip" XI.

You know, a well furnashed XI

Perhaps
Arjuna Ranatunga
Rakhim Cornwall
WG
Sammit Patel
David Sales
Mark Cosgrove

Any candidates to be added in?

This XI will never be complete without Bermuda legend Dwayne Leverock.

Colin Milburn: once described by John Arlott as "a man who looked like he'd had his body poured into his clothes and had forgotten to say 'when'".

Great work.
Is it shameful to want to add Merv to this list?

I can't believe he wasn't the first name on the team sheet.
I will go and spend some time on the naughty step.

Crickey - we've nearly got a squad for this one.

Add in Colin Cowdrey, Late career Botham and mid career Key, and you're there!
