Best place to buy blank bat
« on: May 25, 2022, 09:18:03 AM »

Hi all, I’m currently looking for a plain bat, that I can put my stickers on that I’ve still had for a year just catching dust, where do you find the best places to go?

It depends exactly what you're looking for, I'm sure a few people on here would be willing to make you a custom bat for you to put your stickers on. If you're just looking for a generic plain bat (Indian made) then I may be able to help you in that regard.

Hi mate, thinking of going along the custom route, as I have also been looking at ex pro bats as well but none have taken my fancy just yet

Just buy any bat you like and hair dryer the stickers off.

Without trying to derail the topic here, the whole ex-pro bats is a bit of a minefield. Not sure what constitutes bats being labelled as 'pro bats' these days and what makes them so special. Seems any bat from a std league overseas or county player is a pro bat these days on Instagram/online and in my experience, they don't get anything really special. Had county lads at my club and spoke to a few others who get what they're given largely. Nothing special, just certain weights and handle specs etc specified.

So either what Buzz says. Or go to most batmakers, wait for the cleft you want and you'll get a bat as good as any of the 'pro bats' kicking about.

Seems to me that being devoid of stickers is hardly the first thing you should be looking for!

Just ask one of the batmakers on here to make you a bat within your budget?

Appreciate the comment, and haven’t derailed at all, potentially helped me not lose money on a undeserved pro bat if you get what I mean.

Jonny at Scott cricket and John at Red Ink are two I've had positive experiences with. Look on the Forum Sponsors' boards?

I expect a few more will make their names known below...

If this is all you need a bat for, and I am assuming you don't play regularly or intend to play many matches, buy a used one from a good player. Those bats are usually always knocked, and ready to go - easy try-before-you-buy approach. PLus, you could get a very good deal.
