Bat swaps
« on: June 17, 2022, 10:12:13 AM »

Has anyone been involved in a bat swap? What's the best way to initiate one and where? And what's the best way of ensuring fairness, if there is anything other than simple trust?

I don't know what's a bat swap. How does it work? What are the rules? Etc.?

If you both trust each other then you can just send the bats at the same time. If not, you could pay via Paypal G&S for the bat - when the bat is received then they pay you via Paypal G&S.

There is also a middleman system, you could either send both bats (or similar monetary value) to somebody who then verifies both are as described and in good condition etc.

Thanks for this, was looking for these kind of ideas.

@InternalTraining I hadn't heard of anything like it until recently when someone at our club turned up with a different bat and said he'd swapped it with someone online, since neither of them liked their own bats but didn't want to spend money on new. Seemed an interesting concept.

I have a bat or two that I'd be willing to swap for something different.

I have done it a couple of times.
This is something that should ideally happen in person so that both parties are on the same page and make the  transaction in confidence.

The way I did was in person as well. I liked one of his bats, and offered one of mine.
He inspected mine, and felt that it was OK and everything was fine. So we did a straight swap. No money involved. And we both were pleased.

Have done it before. We agreed we meet halfway so we could inspect etc.

Thanks for all your replies, really helpful. Is there a subforum on here for this kind of stuff if I was looking for a bat swap? Or anyone know the best way of going about it? Got a bat I'm not particularly getting on with but could be an awesome bat for someone if willing to swap.
