How much are they really selling

Who has a spare 700 these days ? The minority for sure

I haven’t seen any one show off their bat on social media

I have no idea of numbers but 700 for a new brand is great for business but i imagine they would sell more at 599 than 700 ?

How much would smeed be earning from them ?

They've got bats at £250 and a range of junior bats at less. Imagine they make pretty good money selling those, especially given the graphics and Smeed's T20/100 record will appeal to kids.

As @Jimbo mentioned, they have other bats. Also, not everyone posts pics of their new bats on here let alone socials. I've sold to many forum members who haven't posted anything, which is fine as its not contractual 😆 People are busy, don't know how or simply don't want to. Doesn't mean they're not happy with what they've received.

Again, what constitutes a new business and what should determine price point? If a company (who have been around for a few years now) makes a good bat and feels people will pay it (sometimes that's down to location), then why should they not charge it? It's their flagship bat, will be limited in numbers due to clefts available, so they're probably not planning in selling thousands a year either.

The bats look great to be fair, but I'm unlikely to buy one due to the prices. Don't begrudge them the prices though, at the end of the day they're selling a product and the power is with the consumer. Bats are pretty simple things and people are paying for the brand most of the time, let's be honest. Their business model is obviously to make top margins rather than try and sell volume, which is fine. The cricket industry could do with a few more brands trying to do it the other way round though!

WCW have definitely splashed out on county players round the South West, there's quite a few Glos and Somerset players with them now. Probably not top dollar players for the most part though.

A guy at my club bought 3 bats plus a kit bag, pads and gloves.  He is early 20's - I guess their target market.  The bats are unreal and more talked about than any others, within the team.  WCW are doing something right!

so is there still such a waiting list for bats then? I was thinking about going down in a few weeks - I will email ahead just incase. I know they have a lot of bats (according to social media) in their racks - or is that just for show lol

The brand has from almost out of nowhere engaged the younger members at my club.....most U18s now regard WCW as the benchmark of best bats and equipment . I think its the combination of the branding, the perception of a higher end brand and pricing that gives impression of buying quality. Plus add in online reviews of them, positive feedback from people who visited, stories that they make bats for many top pros builds that brand perception for many. They seem nice too.

I have started to see  players at local clubs use their bats and they do look good and perform well. Equally, I am sure a bat purchased from one of the many top bat makers and brands on this forum will perform just as well.

I picked this up at the back end of last week from Cricket Hockey. If anyone is down in the southwest I recommend a visit - nice little shop.

I think I got abit lucky with this one - I would argue a mis grade to be honest (though I know some brands down grade heartwood. But a nice grain structure for a grade 3 for sure. I would also say its lower in density too as its a gauge filler and is only 2lb9oz.

num lk scrn lk key

A few dents and marks from the shop - finishing not amazing but certainly not the worst I have purchased. However In terms of performance its very good and will only get better with some knocking.Pickup is good - prob feels slightly lighter than its dead weight . All in all at what Cricket hockey are selling these for I think its a lot of bat for the money. Whether itll make next seasons kit bag remains to be seen but certainly will see some net action when its knocked in.

Yes that’s correct
But not a standard short blade long handle - seems smaller than a standard one (well this one does)

Looks a lovely stick mate. Hope it serves you well and if it does see some use, scores you plenty! WCW make some nice bats, so you won't go far wrong. What does it measure if its not standard? Also, is it filling the gauge? Looks to be some space the bottom in the pic.

Yes perhaps not quite totally filling the gauge but it’s very full for the weight no doubt

Il have a look on the measurements but just putting it next to a short blade long handle it was smaller in the handle
