Taking small ideas is alright, only so much you can do afterall, but ripping off something that is quite definitive of a brand is lazy and a bit of a pisstake IMO.

Especially not when you rip it off so poorly, that's not even in the same league as WCW's branding.

Looks like this guy got inspired by WCW. One of the bat pictures he posted had very WCW like stickers.

Talking of which.....

And yes, I'd already had mine for quite a while before these cropped up! 😆

See it as an achievement when the plagiarism starts... it is annoying and frustrating...

Yeah, a compliment of sorts but mainly people being lazy. I paid a designer to create my stickers and had a bit of input. I was annoyed for him more than me, as he's a talented bloke and then just gets ripped off. Messaged the account who posted it and he actually video called me and said he'd take the post down. Then showed me his factory/workshop and his knock off SS, Kook, GM etc stickers.....then asked if I needed stickers printing! 😂 You have to admire the hustle!

Not quite sure what you mean by this. Scott Cricket is my brand. So do you mean would I consider seeing up a sub-brand, or making for another brand?

Yes hence why I said don’t take offence

Set up a sub brand

Which is more more marketing/branding  focused

The likes of wcw are not gonna come on here

You make a lot of effort, you could be very happy as things are

But you may consider a variation of a brand without your name which could appeal to a different market

What you're saying is he should make different stickers and brands to cater for everyone??? Surely he's doing the right thing and building a quality brand and not diluting his efforts...

Hence why I said don’t take offence

It’s not a criticism nor am I suggesting you do that

I preempted what I said and also was asked again and I clarified

It was not an attempt to criticise a brand or take a dig

Ultimately it’s a business and generally brands with strong branding make more money and charge more

That may not be what’s desired and that’s fair enough

I'm pretty happy with my branding mate tbh. Not quite sure how I'd find the time to undertake running two brands on my own. Not to mention the fact you're then looking at double costs on designers, stickers, pads, gloves, bags etc etc. Setting up, running and funding a business isn't easy, especially when you're doing the making also. So effectively running two would be almost impossible, for me at least.

For some people, there's also more to consider than branding and stickers thankfully. A lot more has gone into WCW too other than stickers and branding. Nothing against brands who don't make, there are some great ones out there. But i actually enjoy making bats and just want to earn a relatively decent living doing something i enjoy.

No shame...

In fairness i kind of admired the front. Had a mild go at him for ripping off my stickers, then showed me other brands stickers he'd ripped off, then asked if i needed stickers. It was quite funny tbf 😆
