Possible player sponsorship.
« on: November 26, 2022, 05:48:58 PM »

Not sure if this is the right place for this post?

I’ve been tasked with finding our overseas player a kit sponsorship for next season, he will be playing for Dartford 1st X1 in the Kent League Division 1, he has also been given a contract to play in the upcoming coastline cricket league in Brazil and Dubai (www.coastlinecricket.com)
Was wondering if any of the forum sponsors or batmakers would be interested in sponsoring him?
I can forward on a copy of his cricket cv if anyone is interested in looking it over?

Thanks in advance.

Interesting question.

I would suggest you also say what this player is prepared to do for the potential sponsor...

Having never been good enough for a sponsorship deal myself I’m not too sure how to answer that!!

The coastline cricket league will be televised and is being endorsed by some serious cricketers like Herschelle Gibbs, Courtney Walsh, Curtley Ambrose amongst others, we also run 5 senior Saturday sides and 2 Sundays at Dartford as well as having over 100 colts currently, so I’m sure he would generate plenty of business for a potential sponsor, it has also been agreed that a banner can be placed at the Home ground for any Sponsor.
I’m sure there would be room for negotiations for other things as well.

What kit will he need? How much of each item? Just white or coloured kit? Is he looking for a full sponsorship, or subsidised kit? Is this just for the season, or ongoing? If so, where does he play back home?

As Buzz says, it helps when people approach brands for sponsorship if they come with some value to add. So things like you've mentioned help, but does he post on social media? Does he coach juniors? Is he a top order batter?

For me its not about just how good a player is, its how invested they are in the brand and if they're prepared to help promote and grow that brand. Some people just want free kit and give nothing in return, when imo it sold be a two way street. Not saying that's the case here btw mate! 😆

Completely understand where you’re coming from mate like I said I don’t really know what I’m doing in regards to getting him a deal, so any advice is welcome.
He’s a middle order batsman and left arm spinner
Was second highest wicket taker in the league last season in a division including the goat himself Stevo! He would definitely look to post on social media.
As for kit requirements and length of deal, he would like a full sponsorship but we understand that they is probably unrealistic for his first deal and would happily take a subsidised deal.
He plays for Chak De cricket club in the national league back in India.
Like I said I would post his cv up but it’s 12 pages and is too big to post.
