So, after picking up 2 x Kryos bats
(plus a third off eBay over the weekend) and a Brava, it felt silly not to complete the 2023 set and try and pick up a Hypa.
With Black Friday weekend looming, I managed to find a Hypa Signature on Talent Cricket for £130 and decided to take the plunge. Another fantastic experience with an online retailer and the bat arrived exactly as I requested.
First impressions of the bat are nothing but positive.
The handles on the 2023 range seem to be a lot more generous than previous years. The handle on this Hypa is lovely and thick and it feels absolutely brilliant in the hands. There is a good quality black grip applied which feels like it will offer good control with gloves on but will not cause devastation to the palms like the HEX grips do.
From a labelling perspective, I was a little unsure about the Hypa stickers when they first launched, but on a personal note, I have to say they look a lot better in person. The colour is vibrant enough for those who want a bit of flare, but still subtle enough to scream elegance.
The profile is one any batsman would appreciate. A full L555 blade, absolutely zero concaving and a mid to low middle (the lowest middle compared to the other 2023 bats).
The Signature range of GM bats seem ridiculously good value for money and this one is no exception. It has 8/9 straight grains, the odd blemish and a hint of heartwood, but its a lovely looking stick. I have had a little tap up with an old ball and it already pings really nicely, so for the price, I am really impressed.
Specs:

I managed to get out and enjoy some winter sunshine in the garden today, so a slightly improved backdrop for today's images (although, I am not convinced my photography skills do this bat any justice).
Enjoy!
