I wonder what they all will wear on their feet soon?

And at 40 years old too. It really is remarkable he must be our best ever test bowler.

Stokes skippering has been bold so far but the first thing he did was get Broad and Anderson back in the fold after the Windies tour.

Best is such a subjective term, how you compare across eras? I would definitely have Jimmy in the conversation for the greatest though. Feel like that captures the longevity, the records, the moments of sheer brilliance and the pure hard work that goes into being a top pro for that long.

I don't think fans from other proud cricketing nations will ever agree, but I think he probably is the best at this point. A legend for so many different reasons

I reckon there have been better seamers but nobody who has matched the longevity and the breadth of achievement Anderson has. He's mastered so many different skills as well without the benefit of being really seriously quick.

The original suggestion from ppccopener is that he was OUR best ever test bowler. By OUR im assuming he meant Englands. Which is what I was agreeing with.

Yes indeed I did mean England’s best. Agreed it’s hard to compare eras as some of us believe who we have seen is the best.
I grew up watching Viv and still maintain he is the best batsman I’ve ever seen.

With Anderson it’s the skill level that’s so high, I find it hard to believe England has had a better bowler.

Anderson's had so much success that even just half his career would be enough to make him a great, it's unbelievable. In the second half of his career (so far) he's taken 394 poles at 22.68, which is a remarkably similar record to Dale Steyn's entire test match career.

Second this,
Key is Anderson's fitness level at this age, no one has achieved this!
