Something a bit special - Pro Bat.
« on: June 05, 2023, 04:12:16 PM »

I was very lucky to get my hands on a rather special Mongoose recently.

A certain forum legend with an incredible cricket bat knowledge as well as the experience of working at Mongoose around the time, has told me he is confident it is the real deal.

Long story short, in theory this is a Keeley made bat, issued to Marcus Trescothick as part of the 'hit a ball over the Lords pavilion for £1 million' campaign.

Suffice it to say, it feels incredible in the hands, and taps up unlike anything I've had before.

As usual for Tres, the bottom hand of the handle is much thicker and more oval in shape.

Considering myself very fortunate to have a piece of cricketing history, from one of my cricketing heroes.

Enjoy the pictures. First time using postimages so fingers crossed has worked as expected!

Looks brilliant! Need an update when you launch your first big hit into the stratosphere.

Not sure I've ever wanted a bat more :o

Very different shape to the Cor3, although that's probably not surprising.

Thanks guys.

I don't think I'll be using it anytime soon, as tempting as it is. I couldn't bear the thought of it being damaged!

I just need to decide whether to keep it as an incredibly special bit of memorabilia or sell/swap it so that I've got something I wouldn't be too scared to use...

No wonder given the current bid price!

There’s a screaming cat on at over £1000, I’d expect this was worth more than that, but who knows.

Blade looks the same length as the handle.

What are the specs?
