Morally offensive..blimey, the air must be getting thin up there on that high horse. Bairstow was daft, and much like his work with the gloves this series, amateurish.

Either way. It's 2 nil, and unless England find some players to help Root and Stokes it's only going to get worse. Looking forward to the next test. Hopefully YJB has been to under 10's training and learned some of the basics so he doesn't let the team down again.

The Mail seems to think Lawrence, Moeen and Wood will play at Leeds. Pope, Anderson and one of Robinson/Tongue to miss out.
Rather laughably Anderson would be considered ‘rested’ lol.

I attended on Sunday and still am bemused by what went on,more entertained by Stokes and Broad than the boo`ing but astonished by the faux outrage by all Australians at the reaction,really what did they expect?
...the lack of moral compass is astonishing,given Sandpapergate ,despite their assertion that it was a cathartic experience and now they are all wholesome individuals,and i suspect now Cummins was caught up in the moment and potentially regrets not re-calling Bairstow.
BTW,have been lucky to attend a couple of Ashes tours down under and even when we were being thumped,and really thumped,the piss taking and unmerciless baiting of the Poms from ALL walks of life puts Sunday in perspective.
Had the same happened in reverse down under,a full diplomatic incident would ensue,have no doubt !

I don't think any Aussie captain would've recalled Bairstow - it was his fault, he was dozy and legally he was out.

England want to get over this and focus on the next 3 tests - and how they combine Bazball with common sense to win games. Bat sensibly when needed and turn the afterburners on when needed.

As for picks, Wood for Anderson works - as much as I'm a Robbo fan, I'd rest him for this one and keep Tongue.

Or....LEFTFIELD ALERT... I don't think Mo is going to win us a test, keep an end tight or bat sensibly, so he's out. Lawrence and Root as spinners, or pick the leggie - we've got 3 games to win boys!

Disappointing news for Pope.  Not the most memorable of games for him dropping a sitter at the start of the game, initiating England's first order collapse then suffering another shoulder problem

Will be interesting to know what further damage was caused by having to field in the second innings given he was only only out there because of a mistake by the umpires

Yes he has had shoulder problems before and a lengthy period out. The only sensible decision is get a proper keeper in and JB plays as a batsman. Calling up Lawrence with no big scores makes no sense.
I think Ali will play and Wood with Anderson and maybe Tongue missing out. Any overheads and Robinson will move it around

I see the aussies all like bashing Robbo, but yet his record against them is pretty unreal.

21 wickets at 25, with more than half of the in Oz, a place that's usualy a graveyard for english dobblers.
