Irritating to have them keep the urn like this

Big shame for the series the weather has spoiled the party

2-2 going into the oval would have been special

Oh well, well just have to make it 2-2 after the oval!

Tongue back in for Jimmy for me, Jim just doesn't lol threatening and tongue a better option than Robinson at the moment

And I'm guessing Australia will go in with 11 batsmen and hope to bat for 5 days to draw again

Yes what might of been for us, I think the catches behind the wicket and chances not gone for cost us in the end.
How Woakes does not play at home all the time when fit is beyond me. Wood is never going to play all five matches but he was superb, as was Broad.

Annoyingly I think we would win at the Oval had the weather not cost us in this game, we played the better cricket in Manchester.

But it’s the first two games, you just have to take your chances at that level, and yes, a bit of recklessness with the bat.

However the team in 12 months has changed and improved massively under Stokes and Baz.it’s almost unrecognisable

Congratulations to the Aussies, but funny how even though I think  it was said on here that they were far the better side, they were completely outplayed in this test and most of the last. It's been a great series, but mistakes we made in the first two tests, the weather and some good cricket by the Aussies in the big moments of the first two tests have been the difference ultimately. 2 - 2 going into the Oval would have been a fairer reflection of the series, and a winner takes all test would have been what this series deserved.

I was at day 1 & 2 at Old Trafford. 19 overs not bowled across the two days but finished bang on 6:30pm when the sun was out.
The slow over rate punishments obviously don’t work so why not stay out until the 90 overs are bowled? I can’t think of any other sport where this would occur.

Australia made fewer mistakes than England. The AUS team was not far superior to the ENG team. AUS were saved by the rain otherwise it'd have been a 2-2 series. Momentum is with ENG now and they can easily draw the series. AUS batting has gone from clinical to sloppy in the 4 matches.

I think the goat innings when absolutely crocked was inspirational

Also Marnus 100 at old Trafford saw them home

England so many positives and learning points and entertaining series just the wrong side of the margins this time.

They are resilient are the pesky Aussie and rightly at the minute the best side on the planet but we are close

Right last test if the series.
Am on holiday so no full prediction other than 2 things...

1. Likely to be Anderson's last test. Let's celebrate his career.
2. Eng are better than Aus (in my view) and let's hope the cricketing gods smile on us after the weather gods let Aus off the hook in the last match.

I don't think Anderson has bowled that badly this series, the pitches haven't helped him but he's obviously at the twilight of an unbelievable career. Broad is the leading wicket taker in the series isn't he?
