good grab that one, much better balance from bairstow.

not sure Starc is a better bat than Cummins though.

Maybe trying to keep the right-left combo going?

Starc is more of a biffer. He’s never gonna last very long. Better he goes out swinging as Cummins is more capable of holding up an end.

32nd Test hundred for the Grandmaster. Equals Stephen Waugh’s tally. Just Punter left scratch off now.

Much better from Eng today.
This is frequently the case that we are rubbish on day 1 and then have a good session.

Robinson with another forgettable three wickets including the world's third ranked test batsman 😂

3 wickets but alot of medium pace dross in between. I actually think he bowled better in the away Ashes when you'd think these home pitches would suit him more.

Interesting what Ponting said, if true ...... Robinsons average speeds have got slower each Test series since he debuted. Surely something is going wrong behind the scenes if that is the case.

Of course it may have just been Ponting putting the knife in, no statistical evidence flashed up on screen to support it.

Interesting one.... as Pope didn't take the field again this morning due to his shoulder injury, if it continues to hamper him after this test and he was ruled out for a game or two, do you think England would recall Foakes to keep wicket and bat 7 and reshuffle the batting order with Bairstow becoming a specialist bat again, or would it just be a straight swap of specialist bat in squad (Lawrence) to come in at 3?

Think Pope is fine to bat as it was external - didn't want to risk any aggravation I guess

Thought he was looking much better than I've seen him for a while. Playing the ball later, fewer loose shots.
