The cricketkid is going to go so, so far, surely?
I've been sending my 13y wicket keeper son videos of his for years, saying look what you have to be doing to get good, and try get him drilling more consistently at home.
Last week my son's U13 interleague team played against his U12 CAG team. Pleased to report Ollie's team won, with Ollie taking a nick and dismissing the cricketkid for a duck.
Ollie conceded 1 bye, took 2 catches and a run out whilst scoring 28
Cricket kid conceded 4 byes, no victims and was out for a duck.
Now Ollie won't listen to a word I say
Note- whilst all reported facts are correct, this post is also firmly tongue in cheek.
Seriously though, it was very interesting to watch him. He was very "flashy", lots of bouncing, diving and rolling- I can understand how he's caught the eye. Whether he keeps his interest/work ethic, only time will tell- but he seems to have positioned himself very well to get access to the highest levels of coaching and influence if he does.
