World Cup T20
« on: May 30, 2024, 09:05:39 PM »

So England win at the Oval. On the plane tomorrow. Probably the most boring shirt - I am loving Scotland, Windies and PNG.

England look good but I don't see them making the final.  Set for a fascinating tournament.

PS I hope I am wrong and England win 🤞🏼

Favourite pre-Cup story so far. Uganda forced to change kit just before the tournament starts.

Interesting interview with Athers on Sky:

And Ponting talking logistics of making pitches in the US:

Loving the hype:

"Long before Australia and England played the first-ever Test in 1877, USA and Canada locked horns in a three-day game in 1844. In that match in New York, Canada came out on top by 23 runs."

Shame to see a lot of empty seats in Guyana. Hopefully, crowds pick up.

I don’t see the obsession to take sports to the USA. We saw it with F1 and it’s a total clown show. Now taking cricket for smooth brained American clowns who don’t even understand cricket.

The absolutely enormous amount they spend on following sport is probably quite a big draw for the commercial side of any sporting body.

Looking forward to Eng/ Sco today. Same Barbados track as before should make it interesting.

Great start for the Scots

Bit of a trend for England with a poor powerplay

Saved by the rain...

Scotland were superb

Hope they go into that Aussie game in St Lucia as a pure knockout game

Would require England to win the next 3 and Scotland to beat Namibia and Oman

It's not unreasonable!

Would have been some chase and not sure they'd have done it. Although posting 90 and England then chasing 109 seems a bit much. Especially with a 3 over powerplay!

Some of the hitting was 😮

I think England have had a lucky escape from DL there.

Just reading on social media that the weather in Barbados has picked up. Odd end time.

Good pitch for a test match. Absolutely trash for T20.
The price the game plays trying branch into a clown country.
