Any cool batmakers / Shops to visit around Slough London Area
« on: August 13, 2024, 06:55:29 PM »

Hello All,
I am travelling from Michigan, USA and will be in Slough/ London area for 2 weeks.
Any suggestions to visit any shops / batmakers around the area.
I went to Keeley's last year and loved every bit of it - Met Tim and picked few bats from him.

Would love to explore something closer to Slough/ London and pick up couple of sticks (very few in-person options to do so in States).

VKS is in London I believe which is a decent store with good stock.

Not sure of any bat makers in London. Salix in Langley Kent of which Maidstone probably nearest main train station but how you get to Langley wouldn’t know unless you have access to a car when here. H4L also in Kent in Tenterden could possibly do both in a day to Kent.

Thank you so much :)
I will try to sort out the logistics of how to get there and try to fit in based on this info.

You can get the train from Slough to Swindon (change at Reading, takes about an hour) and visit Uzi Sports. The new shop is on the outskirts of town. Uzi used to offer to pick people up from the station as long as they were going to spend money. Not sure if he still does that. Otherwise it will be a taxi or bus.

A nice trip to Chase/Serious Cricket site on the edge of Basingstoke is a nice day out. There is a beer brewery opposite chase warehouse too! 🏏🍺

Nooooooooo! Brewery first then nets - what could possibly go wrong?

You realise you bat better after a few cold ones and accidentally have the best/booziest season of your life next year?

Hello All,
Thanks a lot for your suggestions and ideas. I was able to make it back out to Keeley's as I got hold of a car and a driver to drive out there.
I will surely share some pics of a few nice sticks I picked/requested soon (Bats will be shipped to me -easier to travel that).

Again, thank you for your suggestions and help <3  I appreciate you all.
