Hi guys, this is my first post on the forum as a new member. From reading all the posts on this forum, it seems that lots of companies use master bat makers to create their own line of products in England, which I think is great for business and competition. I sent off a recent email to Mars Cricket, a company based in Ruislip I believe which a friend had recommended to me and asked them about their own bat maker. However, while they were reluctant to tell me, they assured me their bat maker has had 25+ years of experience on the job also making bats for many other top companies. This led me to believe it could only be one of a very few select makers and made me wonder whether anyone on here knows anything about their bats or how good they are.
The reason I ask is because I'm in the market for a new cricket bat in a couple of months with a budget of approximately £250 and have been offered one of their higher end bats for about 50% of the price from a friend and hence was wondering whether they were worth it. I'm thinking about waiting for black friday to pick up any deals and was wondering if anyone had any other recommendations for my budget range. N.b I prefer lighter bats around 2-7 to 2-8 and have previously used an M&H and although the pickup was marvellous, it was a bit too concaved for me and has had its fair share of blows. Would appreciate any help, thanks.
