Just a thought sprung to mind from the bat width jokes on the @jonny77 thread. (Thoroughly enjoy all the stunning Scott bats)

Just wondering how much mm are typically sanded off in a basic refurb usually?
And if tampering around with handles by us adding extra grips, medical tape, extra binding etc, if that can cause more risk to shoulders cracking?

Also, how is it best to knock-in the splice end of the bat & sticker area edges?
And how can you tell when splice end is properly knocked? Is it still seam marks showing or are there better clues?

Thanks for the kind words mate. Depends on there edges on how aggressive you are with the refurb. It can be minimal, but can also be a a mm or 2.

I don't think tampering by adding grips etc would cause any issues and as for knocking in the splice area, it shouldn't really be needed. You're not really aiming to hit it up there with the ball.
