So now we have a euphemism for being dropped 😂 the management of Indian cricket can be absolutely embarrassing sometimes.

What a day. With the potential for Bumrah missing in the final innings, this is set for quite a series finish.

PS I should add, I hope he isn't missing. It would feel like fans were robbed of the full battle without India's No 1.

Well done Australia!

Great win - shame Bumrah was out of action today, but not a bad debut match for Webster - one half century, not out in the 2nd innings, hitting the winning runs to regain the trophy, a wicket and a couple of catches. Also, his Test batting average only a smidge under the Don's av  :D. I'd say it's been a pretty good three days for him, and well deserved after stellar performances last few Aus seasons in 1st class cricket.

Aus now hold all bilateral trophies, test championship and world cup - pretty good going, and well done Pat Cummins for such great achievements following the prior controversies (as hilariously highlighted by Kohli in the field today!!! :D). However, room for improvement - T20 cup and trying to retain the test championship and also 'trying' to outright win the Ashes trophy next season!  :D

Scott Boland - well deserved MOTM award with 10 wickets even if it was a pretty helpful wicket for bowlers.

Last time kohli will be seen batting in test matches in Australia? Prob...

Steve Smith stuck on 9999 test runs today!!!! No-one could believe it!

It's going to be a big ask of Eng next Winter - interesting how these pitches have gone, esp the SCG one - how much a specialist spinner will play a role in the Ashes (on both sides prob?) will be interesting esp the relative lack of overs needed from Lyon (and Ashwin, Jadeja, Sundar)

The big question for Australia is what comes next - they have a very mature side, and you could reasonably argue that Head, Cummins and Lyon are the only ones still at their peak, rather than teetering on the downslope.  Its 10 months to the Ashes...how many will make it that far?

Looking through the Aussie pensioners/others

Konstas... Very green. Serious talent.
Uzzie... 36 tour to SL might finish him.
Marnus... Who knows, not scored a ton in ages
Smith... All time great slowly on the way out.
Head. 31,body of a 40 ywar old.
Webster... Better than marsh, but still 31.
Carey... 30 something but in form.
Cummins - will be the difference
Starc must be close to the end.
Hazelwood pretty much at the end, loads of injuries
Boland mid 30s! But looks dependable.
Lyon... Doing his thing. Will be interesting to see how he goes in SL.

Who know what the Aussie batting bench strength is like.

It will be the pensioners against the golfers next winter.

What will be really interesting is who will tour England from India in the summer.

I think there are significant concerns about the next generation - they are viewed with hope verging on blind optimism rather than expectation at this stage, hence Konstas skipping through the ranks so quickly (I agree he has something, but I think he will take a while to settle into consistency in Test cricket with than technique).  Its saying something that Webster - who, lets not forget, did due south of nothing playing in the second division of the championship for Gloucestershire - has been welcomed with open arms!

Totally agree.
Let's also not forget that England have beaten Australia in Australia only once in nearly 40 years.

Twice in 37.

To put that in its proper context though, Australia have won in England three times in that period.

 :D :D :D

Boards should make it mandatory for players to play Test cricket early in their career before they transition to white ball and franchise (big money) cricket.

Test -> White ball -> (close to retirement) franchise cricket.
