Issue with Keeley sale

Hi guys,

Just wanted to share a recent experience I've had with Keeley.

I'll start off by saying I am the biggest Keeley fan boy around, I buy a bat in their black friday sale every year and have used their bats in league games for a few years. I love the brand, the history and product however on my purchase this year I received the bat at 2lb 11.X oz when I asked for a 2lb 8-9oz bat to match everything else I'd bought from them. Honest mistake this stuff happens.

I contact keeley and ask to send the bat back to have some weight taken out or swapped for something the right weight, they insist that it is my error and the bats are weighed out before sale (as I'm sure they are but mistakes happen). After getting a 2nd set of scales to ensure its not my fault, which they requested I did, they agreed to do a free weight reduction if I sent the bat back at my own cost... I shipped the bat back irritated that they wouldn't provide me a label given it was their error and sods law the parcel was damaged, bat lost and the insurance claim process begins.

Am I within my rights to throw a fuss here? I've had these claims with shipping companies before take months, they persistently long it out hoping you drop the claim. I just feel like this is very poor CS from Keeley, shockingly as every experience I've had before has been great. Any advice welcome!

Keira Keeley, I assume daughter/ wife/ similar relative.

They offered me another bat at the black friday price after I asked for that as an option but a bit frustrating.

She’s Tims daughter and handles socials and CS. Have you picked up the phone to speak to them/her or just over email?

So long as you’ve fully insured the return and you get the money back then hopefully you reach an outcome that keeps everyone happy.

If the bat wasn’t at the desired weight then an exchange for one that is would be good. I send bats via UPS currently that seems to be a reliable service without any issues.

It does make me chuckle that people sell expensive bats on eBay but opt for a questionable courier at a £3.49 cost just to save £5 on delivery 🤪

My days of buying bats online are over.....been stung like this too with talent cricket's custom bat service. Sent in my bat to be replicated which had 0 concaving coming in at 2 lb 9 oz. Received 2 lb 12 oz bat. Returned and had a weight reduction which was heavily concave. Too much hassle to return again so kept it

Begs the question why u haven’t gone direct to a bat maker to get it replicated tho?

Plenty of reputable and reliable people on here that can/will help.

Now that im owner of The Cricket Boutique I’m trying to stock and champion the work of the SME bat makers out there and promote their work. 🫡

Accept the offer and get another bat at the "black friday price".
