As a non-"techie" on bat making, what does the bat pressing process actually do - is it just compressing all the fibres in the blade together to provide a more resilient face?
What does double or triple pressing do differently then if a single press may be sufficient?
How many times do the bat makers on this forum press their bats?
Are the differences in the pressing down to type of machine used, or the pressures used?
What is the difference between pressing and knocking in a bat? Do both do the same thing, just one takes so much longer to do?
All these manufacturers who offer ready to play bats, is that because of extra pressing?
I understand if a bat is pressed to hard, then it will lose some of its performance - could the same happen by knocking in too much or is it just a waste of time to knock in for too long?
Glad to hear from those in the know.
