Aero P3 Pads
« on: March 04, 2025, 07:33:11 PM »

Hi guys,

My 11 year old son needs new pads. I wondered if anyone has tried Aero P3 moulded pads? I know they look unusual but if they are super light and make it easier for my son to run quicker I'd be interested. He's only 11 and quite little but already playing in senior fixtures so don't mind supporting him with gear that will help him.

A kid in my league has them - I thought they were ok. I would definitely recommend a 2 strap pads for a 11 year old - makes a significant difference. Moonwalker makes a decent set.
My son uses the morrant ultralites (indian ones) - they are pretty decent. He previously used moonwalkers.

Buy with confidence!

If you search the CustomBats Forum's pad weight list thread, you'll see my entry for Aero P1 Leg Guards ( :D ) listing them as the lightest pads in the industry.

I did not use Aero P3 leg guards but I, as an adult players, used Aero P1 for over a decade. I also ordered them from NZ for my team mates. I bought them for the same reasons as you stated - they are light and very comfortable. But here is another neglected reason: you can walk (easy footwork) with them with great ease without compromising (or corrupting) your batting technique. On the pitch, facing slow or fast bowlers, you can move around very quickly and very easily. As an opener, it was a big advantage for me. I can't emphasize this enough: footwork becomes very natural with these pads. Although light, these pads provided more than adequate protection against quicks. Early on, I paired them with Aero thigh pads but after a while, I was fine without a thigh pad. I bought a second pair as back up but never needed it as my original pair kept me in good stead. They are easy to wash as inner liners are velcroed and can be easily removed for laundry.

Over all, Aero quality is second to none. Their product delivers what they promise. I would recommend looking at P1 small size pads as well if the measurement fits your son.
