Stretton Fox 180 degrees
« on: March 28, 2025, 08:47:38 PM »

So instead of 80 degrees, I ended up toasting the inner and outer thigh guards at 180 degrees.

I was wondering why the black lining was melting but the pads overall looks to have survived.

Has this happened to anyone else and did it affect the use of pads later on.

Can try use them I guess. Always triple check the values and times provided when it comes to heating something is something I've learned the hard way, albeit with cheap pizza 😅

I left the outer pad in for 12 mins and at around 180 - 200, I waited for it to be nice and hot and before putting it in, it seems useable and was fine in nets, I am going to try and remould again. The plastic black lining has melted but not totally.

Thankfully I realised something not quite right and didn't leave the inner pad on for more than 3 minutes or so but that was enough to damage the hook.

Overall, I think they have done really well given they were subject to more than twice the recommended temperature.

The problem i found is that having moulded the pads to my body shape, they would always return to a flatter shape on cooling down and hence never fit properly.  It will be interesting to see it incinerating them produces better ourcomes
