How do you remove the handle from the bat?
« on: March 16, 2010, 10:20:16 PM »

Hi,

I know this may sound odd but How do you remove the handle from the bat without damaging the cleft or bat?

Thanks

Simply don't have the time or effort to do that, just want a quick way to safely remove the handle...

if you want to do it youself you will have to do it carefully with a hacksaw or somthing similiar.  unless you have a large electric saw hanging around.

Unfortunately I don't, would a dense hammer do the trick and knock the handle out of place?

if you think about it thats effectively what a ball is doing, the handle(the contact point i.e the glue) will experience the same forces from ball on blade or hammer on handle. so no....

Use a jig on a circular saw, pre cut the handle out to a set width so that a new handle can be cut to the correct width to re fit.

I do know one person that sits the bats over a tea urn and steams them out, a terrible way to ruin a bat.....
