Become an Umpire?

Well why not?

Tell us all why you won't become an umpire or for that matter why you will become an umpire.

I only do square leg when asked for my club, hate having the pressure of the other team waiting on your decision.

Well I much prefer playing, but I'm sure in 15 years time I'll still want to be involved in cricket matches on my Saturday afternoons, and umpiring may well be the way for me to do it

Agreed, playing is my Cricket at the moment.  Agreed when I'm past it, I will start umpiring, it anoys me how many umpiries don't get to first class level, just because they havn't played.  I know what the point of it is, just fustrating for good umpires not getting rewarded.

Well done sir. I hope you will go and do the Level 2 as soon as possible. (I think the Level numbers are changing but I would be the last to know lol).

And just another note, I hope you will find it as enjoyable as I have over the years.

Well Level 2 is or was given that there appears to be a new system now (as I said I would be the last to know) a pretty heafty type of examination consisted of a few hundred questions  and some practical stuff as well.

But given a few recent strange happenings here I think I will be plying my love of umpiring on some distant shores.
