...Why on Earth would you call it a Mongoose?
« on: March 21, 2010, 05:08:48 PM »

To quote Ravi Shastri:

Why call it a Mongoose?

I wanna ask this question to Tom, just to see why.

I think its because of the shape of the bat is a bit like a mongoose?? Long tail (handle) and small body (blade) could be mistaken and just could be a name like Puma, Slazenger, Kookaburra etc

2 reasons.

A Mongoose is an animal reknowned in India for it's ferocity, they kill snakes (particularly Cobra's) despite being incredibly small. The bat itself appears incredibly small however like the animal it packs a real punch. A Mongoose has a long tail and short body too, our bat is similar in shape with a long handle and small blade.

I'm waiting for more animal names brands i.e. Puma, Kookaburra, Mongoose, Wasp. Would like to see a Jaguar soon or maybe even a Salamander :P
