Ping Test?
« on: April 04, 2010, 04:29:36 PM »

Right,

I have two bats ready for this season, they are both very good bats, but I need to pick one as a match bat!

Bat No.1 Feels nicer and is a touch lighter.
Bat No.2 Is a smidgen heavier and doesn't fell quite so perfectly balanced but pings like a train!

Is there any way I could test the 'ping' of each bats, I have tried bouncing a ball on them but I find it to be quite innacurate.

Cheers

There are other factors that will influence how you bat this year beyond whats in your hands....things such as your form, timing and confidence I would consider much more important that if a bat Pings better than another.

With a half decent bat you should have enough self belief that you will go out and perform to the best of your ability. Psychological fitness is a big factor and mental rehearsal will aid this as well.

Just pick the bat that feels best on pick up and in your opinion would be my approach.

Thanks for the reply, I'm feeling pretty good about the coming season, I just want to get my kit finalised and just stick with it.

Good to hear mate I'll be taking 2 bats in my kitbag to each game and trust both to go well. I'm sure if they are both decent bats they will do u well for the coming season

Thanks, yeah the main thing is that I have two bats with me so if one was to break during a game I can straight away swap it for another bat I feel comfortable with.

I would try both in the nets and go with the one you feel most comfortable with - then only change if the runs don't come after the first couple of games!!

I agree with the previous posts thst you should go for the bat that feels best for you, you could have the best pinging bat but if it dint feel right and your not timing your shots it won't make a difference!

Use them both in nets but remember you'll prob be in better nick the longer your in, so don't use 1 bat at the start and one later on, cos the second bat will possibly feel better
