agree there colesy i have meet 3 people i would say are genuine mates i would meet and have a beer with and i know there are more out there :)

i suspect roco that is pointed my way i understand that bud

Not really, I don't particulary like you nor do I massively dislike, but there are more irritating people on this forum, and I feel don't contribute in a positive way,

one thing you need to learn procricket is to edit your post rather than doubling it up when you add to it.

Majority on here seem fine and I have got many good deals, just others are not worth their posts

Thank you for all your comments on this subject.  It would be worth everyone reading this post as a starter:

http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?PHPSESSID=e7523eb2427d781936a4d217968f331b&topic=7.0

The CB team will review these house rules and publish updated ones if appropriate.  Leo will also email this all existing and new members as a polite reminder, and will make sure that he and other moderators take the relevant action on irrelevant, insensitive, mal-intented posts.

Most, if not all of us are cricket lovers and fanatics, and it is up to all of us to make sure this is the kind of forum we want it to be ... by providing the CB team with constructive suggestions, by thinking twice before you post unnecessary comments, by sticking to cricketing subjects, etc... there are other ways to have personal conversations (eg. MSN chat).

Remember, it is not just forum members who can view your posts, it is the worldwide internet community ... so you are only showing your own true colours by arguing in public :)

There is a lot of cricket experience in the forum members and a lot of excellent suggestions and free advice given my members in their own time, and we can all increase our knowledge and enjoyment of the game through this.  Agreed?

At the end of the day if i buy something from someone on this forum and it turns out not be genuine etc then i will post comments regarding this and see absolutely nothing wrong with that. People that perhaps do see something wrong with it may agree with selling fake goods etc and if so then fair enough but the best way to stop the arguments is to take action against people who do this.

rich top words my father it intereting but i think to be honest bringing out dodgy deals and such may bring the forum down but unlike ebay there are no gaurentees and if the deal is done right there will be no come backs......

mr custom bats agree entirely with your post and agree there are lots of experiance in the forum good guys who sometimes do deals at a loss ie the man above this post.

it needs to get back not just to selling and buying but to real cricket related topics like how fat is shane watson but how much has he improved as a cricketer..

Yes but Rich remember you did this to me, and ruined my good reputation? When the bat was returned to me it went off for more then you paid to somone else straight away!?

LOL !  Yes, the size of Shane Watson is an interesting topic!

But seriously, maybe the trader feedback system could be a way of reporting dodgy deals ... but please, please when you're buying anywhere on the internet, be careful, do your research, and if you're in doubt, then don't go ahead with the purchase. There are some good retailers/manufacturers on this forum and they're there for a reason ... they may not give you the cheapest option, but they can be relied upon.

Fingers crossed that when most of us get around to doing the thing we love and getting some much needed sunshine, the discussions about cricket and all things related (like how fat is Watson?!) will pick up. It's been a long cold winter and maybe some of us have been stuck in doors to much. Time for a fresh season and start on here.

Since you raised the issue Dan I'm more than willing to go over this again however I'm sure the members don't need reminded about what was sold or should say Miss sold and if you sold it for more than i paid then I'm not responsible if people are thick.
As far as I'm concerned I've dealt with it and I've moved on.

I dont think forum members should be blamed for voicing their opinions, which will occasionally start arguements, but these things can only be sorted out by people explaining themselves and moving on. Highlighting this will only make it worse as people rush in and say how much they agree (thus saying that they are in the right and not taking any responsibility personally for the back biting and argueing)

Not a personal attack on anybody in particular, but instead of saying "oh yes i agree, people need to stop argueing" its should maybe be more "im sorry for being a douche"

Ill say right now that ive been involved in arguements and probably havent helped by making certain comments, by people accepting responsibilty for their errors, no matter how small, perhaps everyone can get along and we wont make the same mistakes over and over again?

Ive been on this for 2 years now and can only say what a great forum this is.I have personally learnt a lot from the reviews of different bats and equipment which is important as I live in Spain and cant buy any cricket equipment over here. Also I just ignore the kids having a go at each other but have no problems with it.When the weather changes in the UK and the cricket season starts perhaps these kids will be out playing instead of argueing on the Forum.
Ive bought 5 bats this year from forum members, a helmet and a set of pads all of which were good deals and I am really chuffed. I am fortunate not to have been stung but am particular of whom I buy from.I also ask those in the know for advice and really appreciate their opinions. If I have been sold a pup them believe me you will hear about it! No complaints otherwise just keep up the good work and lets have less sniping and backbiting and concentrate on cricket.

With the selling/buying/trading aspect, I am very cautious and always go on reputation. I always look at the feedback on the members profile. I have just gone back today and submitted feedback for dealings I had forgot to.

Maybe you could add a feedback percentage on the left of everyones posts, under their other stats. Rather than people having to go onto their profile to have a look. Which some people won't know/do.

I agree with Fattus, I remember almost all of the "older" members (no offence! you can be 17 and classed as an older member by me). They have great reputations but some kids come along and effect this for no reason. Most of us members know that when contacting Mike we need to be patient as he is a very busy person. Some of the younger members need to deal in a more matured way when selling/buying.

I feel I have matured on the forums now after being around on them for 3 years

ive also realised that this forum has become virtually an online store, when i look to the bottom of the home page all the topic are from "goods for sale/swap" once upon a time we would actually talk about cricket and talk about kit!!!!! OH HOW I MISS THE DAYS!!!!

good to see you back on the forum mate!
