Boucher avgs 30.90 in Test & 28.93 in ODI's

Dhoni avgs 42.59 in Test & 51.13 in ODI's

I just hate statistics they complicated things so much..

I hate to disagree Jeet, but MS is truly average as a keeper. Prasanna Jayawardene is the best test keeper at the moment, followed by mccullum, prior, boucher, in any order. he's a top batsman, no doubting that, but i wouldn't have him as a keeper.

1 - Hughes - Good luck with the short ball buddy!
2 - Denly - As much as I want to see English talent coming through, surely we can do better...
3 - Mike Hussey - He's good, but he's not the master batsman everybody thinks he is!
4 - Bopara - Any explanation needed?
5 - Ashraful - Has all the attributes needed to be quality, apart from temperament. therefore he is crap!
6 - Albie Morkel - Clearly the lesser talent in the family...
7 - Dhoni (WK) - Mainly for his keeping. Good enough to bat at 7, but not a good enough keeper imho.
8 - Rana Naved - Have I missed something here? He's awful for Pakistan!
9 - Ishant - Gone rapidly downhill since making Ponting look scared...
10 - DARREN POWELL! - ... *speechless*
11 - Mendis - Quickly fallen from grace. Good bowler, but probably not a big enough turner of the ball to be a consistent threat?

On topic of Strauss - Quality bat, had an outstanding year. Better opener than Katich Jeet! Not as good overall as the other 3, but had a better year than Smith I reckon!
espocrespo - Prior's a better keeper than Kies, and a better bat than Davies. Enough for me!

No mate, I think that ship sailed along time ago..

But as always I think Irfan does need another chance.. Vinay Kumar in the T2O squad over Irfan?? I don't even want to get started on the other idiot who gets picked only cause hes from Bombay.. Feel bad for Kohli and Robin...
Exactly, Vinay Kumar wtf, his bowling speed is around 120kph, all I can see is him getting hammered on the tiny West Indian grounds.

BCCI are always saying Irfan has lost pace, but during the IPL, he's been around 135-138kph range more often than not.

Rohit has a place for life, guys like Pandey, Pujara, Robin and Kohli are unfortunate that Gavaskar is always singing Rohit's praises whenever he's in the com box.

Katich doesn't seem to get any praise. Since returning to the Aussie side, he's been fantastic and he's steady platform allows Watson, Punter etc to play their natural games.

Maybe went too far saying the worlds best, but just my view. He's certainly up there anyway.
Would be interesting to see how Sehwag gets on away from these roads that India produce. Maybe we'll see if he really is a "bully" of bowling in English conditions when India next tour...

Averages 40 in England, so he's more than handy.

As I've said 100's of times, are Indian wickets only flat when India bat? Do they become unplayable once the away side bats??

Not gonna argue that, I know he's a top cricketer. But I'd take Strauss any day. Strauss has to build a platform for players like Bopara (in the past, I know, but point still stands). Katich has a host of world class batsmen around him. i'd be interesting to see what they'd be like if the roles were reversed!

Denly
Hughes
Trott
Yuvraj
Duminy
Pollard
Akmal (wk)
Broad
Morkel A
Sami
Sreesanth

Old topic funny how Trott has maybe overcome his overrated tag

Who is better than MS out of the current w/k?

McCullum, Prior, Haddin, Akmal?

No chance, Dhoni's head and shoulders above the lot.

surely Prior has done enough to be considered Dhoni equal now

So it looks as though a few of the over-rated players are looking a tad better these days!
Hughes still doesn't seem to have risen from the depths of under-performance just yet!!!

Hussey has been a great player. But the forum is all about discussions and not everyone would agree!  ;)

what did mike hussey do between 2006 and the recent ashes series?

i think it was very reasonable to call hussey 'overrated' before the ashes.
