Ian Pont's Book
« on: April 28, 2010, 08:13:12 AM »

Guys - I've flicked through this book quite a while ago and seem to remember it offering up a few good hints and tips - to those who own it - is it any good, has it helped and would you think it's a worthwhile investment?

I might try and get someone to video me bowling and post it up here one day (so you can all have a good laugh!) - then you can perhaps offer some advice, hints on areas of my action that could be refined, improved etc.

Cheers :)

Do you mean fast bowling bible? If so I've read it and did find it pretty useful, especially the great slower ball part. Reccomend it

A very good book,  I have also been on his course to teach it and that was really useful as It brings to life some of the things in the book which are hard to understand.

Yep -thats the one. Does it include different exercises and specific bowling muscle related regimes in the book?
I saw that the does a course, how much are these out of interest?

You've probably read it but if not the Bob Woolmer book is very useful. Also think if you search the net there are some Woolmer bowling tips so might be videos of Ian Pont's stuff?

I think it's brilliant. Seems to be the only person in the world that truly understands fast bowling (not swing bowling or little dobbly seamers, though he's good with those too) but fast bowling. He really knows his stuff...

I think it was £99+VAT but that was a couple of years ago. I did mine at Fenners, Cambridge and it was really good. He actually got you to do the excercises and then you could really feel what he was talking about.
