Gloves with superior protection

I am looking for some new cricket gloves to replace the ones I have, my current ones (M&H) offer almost no resistance to the slowest of bowlers. I would like suggestions of gloves with incredible protection or inserts to increase protection. :)

any brands top glove will provide more than ample protection.
if you wanted some new ones ive got some top of the range kooks?

Puma are very good, the best in my opinion. Kook are good but a little heavy.

Out of interest how do people know what provide the best protection? For my money I would opt for Gm d3o gloves as the materials are designed to absorb impact....only because our ACIS gloves aren't back in stock yet tho ;) lol

I have been hit with both Puma, Kook and Grizzly gloves. All had equal protection but the Pumas were nicest. The Pumas were 4000's and the Kooks were RP's. Can only comment on what I have used.

I like pumas and they seem to have fibre protection in all the fingers. SS are like Newberys aren't they?

Those GM's do look nice, I think the test is if you've been smashed on the hand by a Bollinger bouncer and it doesn't hurt. The foam in my gloves seems softer than other brands.

Softer foam doesn't mean less protection necessarily as depends on properties etc but chances are it's Indian plastizote foam which differs from what it actually is over here...d3o is designed to harden upon impact but there isn't alot in the set I brought to view not sure what the top end set are like so guess it depends on ur budget?

I use the Canterbury Infl8/Ayrtek  gloves and they are super for comfort and the protection is excellent although I have never inflated them.How do you rate them Tom, are they good county standard or Test match standard? I wouldnt know as I dont play at either level!

I'm not so bothered about the price cos if they protect my fingers then I'm happy. Although the price/protection balance is always important.

I would recommend the newbery gloves the top end sps glove in the shark tooth design are fantastic, however on a price front grab the tiger shark ones from shark as they are the same just re labelled and coloured.

i face decent pace attacks and my ayrtek elite offer great protection been hit a couple of times in nets and not felt a thing plus decent price at the min

Aryteks look good, the Shark ones look practically identical to the newberys.

thats the ones i have the elite ones the shark style only £35 at the mo so good price dont know what type of pace you face but our net guys are high 70's at times and been hit and dont feel the impact as i did with other gloves

Beach, im suprised you've had that problem with the M&H gloves, i have had 3 or 4 pairs over the past couple years and have never had problems with regards to injuries and lack of decent protection - could be that you've just been unlucky??
I've had the SS super test, great gloves and currently £16 from online stockist - loads of protection on them.
Sounds like the Ayrtek gloves should provide some very high level protection aswell.
