Wright Brothers Cricket
« on: May 10, 2010, 08:00:57 PM »

First post on here guys, been reading the forum for a while now and its superb.

I had a custom bat made for me back in 2003 when I was 16 by a company called the "Wright Brothers" and didnt really appreciate how good the bat was up until I found it in my parents loft earlier this year. I remember breaking it in the winter nets following that season and ive been a follower of Grey Nics ever since, had a go at repairing it recently and it really flys off the middle.

Just wanted to know if anyone had heard of the company and if they were still going somewhere?

Also ive tried to get in touch with Roger at Solitaire over a new bat, Ive emailed him but no reply, am I best giving him a call?

Welcome to the forum, I have been waiting a while for Roger at Solitaire to reply to me by email as well, so assume he is very busy with orders. Would be best to ring him on his mobile, he usually always answers.

Never heard of them if i'm honest.
I've heard of Wrights the willow merchant, but not the batmaker.......whereabouts are you based as people in your area may have heard or used one?

They were/are from Lustleigh, not sure if they are still going as i've not seen any new ones around recently.

Well im based up in the North East from Middlesbrough and at the time sent out a load of emails asking for junior sponsorship and the Wright Brothers who were from Lustleigh got back to me with the best offer.

Ye the stickers were yellow and green with a black eagle on the back. Honestly one of the best bits of willow ive seen and used its a shame if there not going anymore. Ive been spending fortunes on Grey Nics for ages now and bought the new atomic before the start of this season and im less than impressed with it, hence trying to spend a slightly less amount of cash on one of the bats from Roger at Solitaire as the reviews on here for £100 seem superb
