Screaming Cat.
« on: May 29, 2010, 12:08:57 PM »

I was reading old topics on the forum and was shocked to read that Screaming Cat's were pressed and shaped in India. Is this really true and if so then what is Julian Millichamp's involvement in the company?

As far as I am aware that isn't true.

well, everyone still needs to make a buck.
i'm sure he couldn't meet increasing demand by himself, factor in his health problems and it seems a sensible option in the cold light of day.

cant see this being true as he puts the %100 handmade by jullian millichamp stickers on his bats and don't think he would risk his reputation to make a quick buck

not meant in that way just really can't see him importing bats and risking a reputation built up over decades to make some money as i'm sure he has made enough to retire on but someone may correct me does he put the %100 hanmade by jullian millichamp on all his bats as is on mine?

It is very suspicious how he has 100s of bats in his factory all have the handle fitted, and fixed into legal lengths. I hope this isn't the case, would be a great shame.

Can't see it myself either in all honesty, if he wanted to make a quick buck then he'd go into mass production rather than adding a personal touch to the bats and source it all from india IMO.

I have an newer Pro Player, and an older one - I may go away and compare them to see if there's any obvious differences?

just my opinion but can anyone honestly see him risking his rep as he is world renowned for being one of if not the best plus on the money side with what he charges there is still high demand so say 2 pro players bats a week would be a decent wage for anyone so just can't see him doing it for that anyway my pro players scat is a ping monster so am glad :)

And I have only used my older Pro Scat and that's awesome.
And mallet test o n my new Pro is awesome too, so not too worried where it was made!
I am sure he either made them himself, or made 80% of them! And he tests them after to rate them in their appropriate level of willow.
So if the main man rates them as Peo bats, then who are we to judge one of the best Podshavers on the planet!

All I know is that if the Scat Pros I have both go like a rocket, then I don't really care where they're from....as performance and quality is what counts!  Everything else is a minor issue!!  8)
